RE:TRAX
"Un sistema modulare a componibilità illimitata". È il cuore della "rete reale e virtuale" che Piermario Ciani, Vittore Baroni e Massimo Giacon idearono nel 1981 e che riprende vita il 6 settembre 2013 a Bertiolo, in provincia di Udine. Re:Trax è la rielaborazione attuale del pensiero e del modus operandi di Piermario Ciani, che ha avuto proprio in Trax la sua espressione e il suo apice, coinvolgendo oltre cinquecento autori di diverse nazionalità. L'album in vinile TRAX 0982 XTRA, realizzato nel 1982 da dieci musicisti mediante collaborazioni incrociate a distanza, viene considerato fra le pietre miliari dell'arte del networking, arte alla quale Piermario Ciani ha contribuito significativamente pur non spostandosi mai da Bertiolo, suo paese d'origine. In questa specifica occasione le tracce di TRAX 0982 XTRA sono state ulteriormente rielaborate dai musicisti Renato Rinaldi, Mamuthones, Aghe Clope, Xabier Iriondo, Steve Nardini, Trouble Vs Glue, Jestern, Claudio Rocchetti, Ensemble Economique e Arbe Garbe.

"A modular system with unlimited modularity". It is the heart of the "real and virtual network" that Piermario Ciani, Vittore Baroni and Massimo Giacon devised in 1981 and which comes to life again on September 6th 2013 in Bertiolo, in the province of Udine. Re: Trax is a revised and updated version of the theories and strategies of Piermario Ciani, who had in Trax its best expression and a creative apex, involving more than five hundred authors of different nationalities. The vinyl album TRAX 0982 XTRA, produced in 1982 by ten musicians through crossed collaborations at distance, is considered today a cornerstone of the art of networking, an art form to which Piermario Ciani has contributed significantly without ever moving from Bertiolo, his native town. On this specific occasion the tracks of TRAX 0982 XTRA have been further reworked by the musicians Renato Rinaldi, Mamuthones, Aghe Clope, Xabier Iriondo, Steve Nardini, Trouble Vs Glue, Jestern, Claudio Rocchetti, Ensemble Economique and Arbe Garbe.

Piermario Ciani (1951-2006), è stato un autore poliedrico: i suoi tre decenni di produzione artistica sono caratterizzati da una continua ed irrefrenabile voglia di spaziare e sperimentare che lo ha portato ad agire nei campi più disparati: artista/mail artista, fotografo, editore, graphic designer, agitatore culturale e ideatore dei collettivi Trax, Luther Blissett (poi Wu Ming) e FUN - Funtastic United Nations. E’ stato uno dei protagonisti più rilevanti della cultura pop italiana, artista periferico ma allo stesso tempo mediaticamente attivo sul piano internazionale.

Piermario Ciani (1951-2006), artist / mail artist, photographer, publisher, graphic designer, cultural agitator and creator of the collectives Trax, Luther Blissett (subsequently Wu Ming) and FUN - Funtastic United Nations, was one of the protagonists of Italian pop culture, a peripheral artist but at the same time a real polymath active through various media at an international level.
